Our Wedding Reception at The Melbourne Aquarium by Stephen and Wayne

The transformation from a tourist attraction to our private function took place at 6 pm when the last of the tourist left, the café on the ground floor was sectioned out by the Melbourne Aquarium, setting up the tables. The decorators from the Wedding Works also came to touch up the place with blue flowers. The bridal party coordinated everything and welcomed the guest arrived. Mia and I were relaxing at the back room. Mia was busy of course, with Natalie the makeup artist and Ann the hairstylist. I became redundant in the room. I did nothing but eating junk food.

Wayne the MCFrom Wayne Leng the groomsman and MC
"This was my first time as a MC for a wedding reception... come to think of it, it was the first time I had MC'ed for anything! Can't say I was nervous, but it was certainly different standing in front of all those people, most of whom were strangers to me. My co-host (Evelyn - 口水婆 'Hau Shui Po') certainly made my job easier. The night started with a slideshow I had previously put together. It was designed to loosen up the atmosphere, and I think we succeeded in doing so. The night felt like a big party, unlike many often rigid wedding receptions. The Groom and Bride looked a million dollars, helped by Stephen's strategic choice of best man (just kidding Francis!!!) and complemented by the 3 beautiful Bridesmaids. The hightlight of the night for me was the speech by the Bride. There wasn't a dry eye in the room as we were all touched by the emotional and moving speech. Stephen backed that up with his amazing (not to mention surprising!) smooth singing voice. I was later told that many had initially thought he was miming (until he stuffed up that is). The boy has some hidden talent alright! Stephen and Amelia, I hope you had as great a time as I did that night. I also hope that I lived up to your expectation as the MC. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of the most important day in your lives."

The dance floor opened with our bridal waltz, dancing to the song: "Love is all around" by Wet Wet Wet. The Rumba dance it was slow, quick, quick... slow, quick, quick ... like so... then everyone joined in afterwards.

We also had the specially prepared bridal games. Hm..... So few guessing kisses and feeling bums later, we were allowed to sit down to have our coffee. Of course, the night finished with bouquet catching and garter flowing.
